If you are already a Spotify member, you will be happy to know that the service has just introduced a new tier for its subscribers. The new tier will allow you to enjoy more features than before, including access to Stations by Spotify, Shuffle, and Customized playlists. You can also now listen to Lossless streaming. This means that you don’t have to worry about audio quality while enjoying your favorite songs.

Lossless streaming

In the coming months, Spotify will be launching its new “HiFi” streaming tier, offering high-quality lossless audio. It will be available to Premium subscribers. However, there’s no concrete information on how this feature will work or when it will be available.

The company says that the HiFi tier is in response to the request from its users for a higher quality music service. According to the company, high-resolution audio is the most requested feature among its subscribers. And although the company hasn’t confirmed the timing or pricing for the upcoming feature, it’s likely that it will be offered for free.

The tier will start rolling out in select markets in the coming months, with no pricing details. The company is currently working with the biggest speaker manufacturers to ensure that their devices can take advantage of the new tier.

It’s also possible that the feature will be introduced as part of an ad-free Premium tier. If this happens, the company might also begin paying more to artists for their HiFi streams.

At first, the HiFi feature was rumored to cost $5 to $10 a month. However, that’s a far cry from the original plans. A user on Reddit reportedly leaked a video of the tier.

Spotify has been in constant dialogue with music labels to bring high-quality streaming to their customers. In recent months, the company has added over 80 international markets to their platform. They’ve also started to test a higher quality streaming tier.

While the launch of the tier isn’t expected until later this year, the company’s executives have said they’re planning to offer it to as many users as possible. That means that Spotify will be competing with other lossless streaming services such as Tidal.

Customized playlists

The music streaming app, Spotify, is a leader in personalized playlists. While you can use Shazam to identify songs that you hear on the radio, Spotify puts them in front of you. And it also lets you discover new music.

The company has partnered with Billboard to curate a 124-playlist library. It also offers monthly, weekly, and yearly playlists. In addition, it has a trove of ‘Made For Us’ shows. These include original programs that explore different aspects of music.

You can create customized playlists with your friends. Spotify will create a special playlist for you based on the music preferences of each friend. When you meet up with other people, you can play this mix to get everyone into the mood.

Spotify is able to personalize playlists through a complex algorithm. It uses data about your listening habits and skip rates to create songs. However, the company isn’t saying which playlists will receive personalization.

The most popular Spotify personalized playlists are a dynamic greatest hits, and a dynamic “Made for Us” playlist. Both of these playlists are designed to keep a song on the top of the list as the playlist churns out more tracks.

Currently, only paid subscribers can access Spotify’s premium tier. This is expected to launch in several markets in the next year. Among other things, it includes a free trial for Spotify HiFi. Users can upgrade to Premium for a one-time fee to get better audio.

Some artists are already using the service to build up their catalogs. Singer-songwriter Danny Ocean, for example, has signed with Warners. He’s already made 261 million streams on the platform.

Shuffle feature

Spotify is rolling out a new feature to its Premium subscribers. It will add individual play and shuffle buttons to all playlists and albums. The button will be available in the coming weeks.

Spotify’s free tier allows users to listen to music on their mobile devices, but can’t play specific songs on demand. They have access to all Spotify content, however. This includes ad-supported content. You can also create personalized playlists based on your listening history and other preferences.

Spotify has 15 curated playlists, including the daily mix, release radar, and algorithmically tailored playlists. These are listed under the “Made for You” section on the home page.

Spotify’s live lyrics function allows users to follow the lyrics as the songs play. The service also offers the Blend Story feature, which is a slide show of infographics.

In September 2021, Spotify plans to update its mobile app. This feature will allow users to skip the first song in an album and start listening to the next one in the order they want. Previously, it would skip the next song in the album after the first, regardless of what order the user wanted to listen to them.

The company is also planning to launch a feature called HiFi. This feature will stream music in lossless quality. While this feature isn’t yet available, it is expected to be rolled out in the near future.

Spotify’s shuffle feature was originally designed for CD players. As it has evolved, Spotify has streamlined its algorithm to make the feature more random. That means you may hear the same song play repeatedly.

If you’re interested in listening to high-quality music, consider other streaming services. Apple Music, for example, provides Sony 360 Reality Audio. Also, Amazon Music offers Dolby Atmos.

Stations by Spotify

Spotify’s Stations by Spotify app has launched with a few features, but still lacks some key ones. At the time of its launch, the app only featured 62 channels of music. The app also did not feature skipping. This was later fixed.

The Stations by Spotify app is available for both Android and iOS devices. Spotify has an extensive library of music, with more than 80 million songs available. It is one of the largest streaming services in the world.

In addition to its huge music catalog, Spotify has created an impressive amount of podcasts. There are also a variety of curated playlists. Users can download podcasts to listen to them offline. Moreover, Spotify Connect allows users to play music through various devices. Specifically, it can be used to stream music through Chromecast, Amazon Echo, and televisions.

For subscribers, Spotify offers two different tiers. For the Premium tier, users can enjoy ad-free, 320kbps streaming. Meanwhile, the free tier streams at a low quality of 96 Kbps. However, it is worth noting that the free tier has fewer song choices.

One important feature to keep in mind is that you can create your own shows. These shows are based on your listening habits. Your tastes are known to Spotify, so you can create a playlist featuring songs that you prefer. You can also collaborate on your playlists with other users.

If you want to enjoy Spotify on a larger scale, you can upgrade to the Premium Duo plan. The monthly fee for this plan is $13 (PS13, AU$16). This tier includes Hulu and Showtime.

Other features include Explicit Content Filter, which helps prevent younger family members from hearing inappropriate content. Moreover, the Family Mix feature combines the music of all plan members.

Apple Music

The new Spotify streaming tier will be available in select markets later this year. At the same time, the company has announced a new high-fidelity audio service called Spotify HiFi, which will offer lossless audio.

Currently, the free version of Spotify streams music at a maximum bitrate of 160kbps. Premium subscribers get a higher bitrate of 320kbps. As part of the announcement, Spotify revealed that it is working with the largest speaker manufacturers on the planet to ensure that its new tier can be accessed by its users.

However, it’s also possible that the new tier could follow in the footsteps of Amazon’s Music HD, which launched in U.S. and European markets early in the year.

The streaming service’s Platinum plan includes a Headphone Tuner, Audio Insights, and Playlist Pro. It also comes with limited-ad podcasts.

Another noteworthy feature is that Spotify is able to play local files on mobile devices. This means that you won’t have to upload them through the desktop app. Instead, you can play them through Bluetooth, which can be done with Qualcomm’s aptX HD protocol. Alternatively, you can use Sony’s LDAC.

Spotify also announced a new feature at a special event, called Stream On. The experience will provide users with a series of facts about songs, albums, genres, and other content. Specifically, the service will let you know about the songs that have the most listeners, the most popular albums, and the best performers.

Although the feature hasn’t yet been rolled out, it’s not hard to see why it’s being heralded as the next big thing. Spotify has been testing the possibility of higher-quality listening off and on for years.
